4th Joint EFLM-UEMS Congress, Rector Magnificus of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, prof. dr hab. Andrzej TretynThe 4th Joint EFLM-UEMS Congress was held between 21-24 September 2016 in Double Tree by Hilton conference centre in Warsaw. The central theme of the conference was: Laboratory Medicine at the Clinical Interface. The Congress was the biggest such event devoted to the fields of laboratory medicine and clinical diagnostics in Europe in 2016.

Siminska JoannaWe are delighted to inform you that the title of the Best Graduate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in the academic year 2015/16 was awarded to mgr Joanna Siminska from the Faculty of Health Sciences of NCU Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz. In 2014, the laureate graduated from the Physiotherapy program, and in 2016 – from the Emergency Medical Science program. She is currently a doctoral student in the field of medical sciences.

Obruni Kasia„Obruni goes back to Africa” – this is the title of a humanitarian aid project initiated by two students of Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Kasia and Natalia. Inspired by their previous stay in Africa and equipped with valuable experience gained during the campaign, the girls decided to return and continue with their charity mission.

scapula2016 31st year students of the medical program at NCU Collegium Medicum achieved a notable, double success at the National Inter-University Anatomy Competition Scapula Aurea and Golden Scapula. This year’s edition was held at the Wrocław Medical University.

liver transplant On 27 January 2017, a team of specialists led by dr hab. Maciej Słupski, head of the Department of Hepatobiliary and General Surgery of the A. Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz, performed the first liver transplantation surgery in the region.

Rector’s scholarships were awarded to several scholars, including two academics from NCU Collegium Medicum: dr hab. Maria Kłopocka and dr hab. Sławomir Jeka, prof. UMK.
