A team of vascular surgeons from the A. Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz was the first in Poland and in this part of Europe to perform an implantation of InCraft® - an innovative, ultra-low-profile stent-graft. The team was headed by prof. dr hab. Arkadiusz Jawień, head of the Department of Vascular Surgery and Angiology and of the Centre for Medical Education in English of the NCU Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz.

All donations will go to the Charity Society and will be distributed among the most deprived members of the community.

Join the Great Charity Event!
The 24th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy – WOŚP) will take place on 10th January 2015 (Sunday). The WOŚP Finale is a nationwide one-day public money collection event held every year in order to raise funds for equipment donated to Polish hospitals. The theme of this year’s Finale is: “Buying medical equipment for paediatric wards and providing decent medical care for seniors”.

Our Expert in Accreditation Committee
Dr hab. Celebrated each year on February 14, St. Valentine’s Day is a feast in the honour of the patron of those who are looking for and those who have already found their second halves. Innovative Treatment of Stroke
A team of specialists from the University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz was the first in the region to perform an innovative endovascular procedure in a patient with cerebral stroke. The team included medical professionals from the Centre for Interventional Management of Stroke and Interventional Radiology Laboratory functioning within the Hospital.

Centre for Medical Simulation
On 1st March 2016, a significant agreement was signed between prof. Jan Styczyński, Vice-Rector for Collegium Medicum, and Michał Kępowicz, Director of the Department of European Funds of the Ministry of Health. The contract ensures the financing of the project entitled “Development of medical teaching through instructional simulation at the Nicolaus Copernicus University Collegium Medicum”.

By the decision of the University’s authorities, on 10th March 2016 (Thursday) there will be Rector’s hours from 3:00 p.m. onwards for all the students, teachers and administrative staff of the University (both in Toruń and in Bydgoszcz) – there will be no classes and all the administration offices will be closed.

New Rector Elected
Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Tretyn has been elected as Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University for the term 2016-2020. The electoral meeting was held on 10 March 2016 in Toruń. Prof. Andrzej Tretyn was the only candidate nominated for the post. 231 electors were present: 166 voted for, 53 voted against, and 12 abstained. This is the second term of Prof. Andrzej Tretyn as the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. He has held the office since 2012.
